Start A Group Coaching Program

If you’re an online coach, and want to earn more income, you may feel that you only have two options – take on more clients, or raise your current rates. The idea of raising your rates may make you nervous.. what if some of your clients leave because they can’t pay the new rate… But what else can you do?

The idea of taking on more clients may seem impossible. After all, there’s only so many hours in a day, and you can only work with so many clients.

What if there was another option?

Instead of working with clients one on one – you can create a group coaching program.

This will allow you to earn more per hour – which allows you to earn more, without raising your rates or taking on extra one-on-one clients.

Here are some tips to help you with creating your group coaching program:

Choose the Goal of Your Program

Coaching programs come in all shapes, sizes, and forms. You might want to start a group program to help your audience learn to publish their first Kindle book, teach them all of your best blogging secrets, or show your members how to outsource to service providers.

Of course, you can also start a coaching program where community is the goal. For example, one business coach offers a weekly mastermind group. Each week, members show up to share what they’re doing to grow their brands. Members may have different goals, but everyone is there to support and motivate each other.

Think about the Duration

Some programs will come to a natural end. For example, if you have a group where you’re teaching your members how to launch a Kindle book, the group is clearly over once the Kindle book is published.

However, not every program is that clear-cut. Try to consider what you can comfortably accomplish and how long it could take. You might decide that your social video program only needs to run for ten weeks but your mastermind group might be better suited to last for a year.

Hire Assistants

As you’re considering the size of the group, you can also make the decision to get help. For example, if you plan to have a big web design group coaching program, you could hire a virtual assistant to help you manage all of the questions and feedback you get. By getting someone else to handle the details, you’ll be able to focus on teaching the material and serving your community.

Keep in mind that group programs rely heavily on the energy of the original creator. That means you’ll want to approach your group with a positive mindset and an enthusiastic attitude!

Use Your Existing Material

One business coach wanted to start a group program about branding. She knew she’d given several talks to various organizations on the topic, so she pulled up her old speeches and repurposed that material into weekly presentations.

Then she designed a workbook to give to participants. She also scheduled two live video sessions where she could answer questions from her community.

You can do the same thing. Look through your previous content and see what you can recycle. You probably have more material sitting on your laptop or iPad than you realize. When you re-use this content, make sure to update or edit it where needed.

Mentoring a group can be a fun and easy way to increase your income. You’ll get to build a thriving community that nurtures members and helps them grow.
